LMC Student Discounts

Ticket discounts are available to current Lake Michigan College students for most performances that are part of The Mendel Center Mainstage season brochure.  Present your current student identification to the box office for your discount.  Discounts may not apply to all performances so see the brochure or specific web page for availability.  Discounts do not apply to Stage Side seating and cannot be combined with Mainstage Series discounts or other discounts and special offers. Visit or call the Box Office at 269-927-8700, option 1 Monday - Friday 10am-6pm.

LMC Student Rush Tickets

Before select Mainstage season brochure shows, $12.00 Student Rush tickets may become available. Present your current student identification to the box office for your discount.  Discounts do not apply to Stage Side seating and cannot be combined with Mainstage Series discounts or other discounts and special offers.  Student Rush tickets will be announced through Facebook, Student Services, Visual and Performing Arts text alerts, and posters around campus the week leading up to the show.

Southwestern Michigan Economic Club Speakers Series

Any current college or high school students can attend a student only question and answer session before the main presentation.  Once the question and answer session is complete, students will be escorted to a section in the theatre to listen to the main presentation from the speaker.  Register for tickets here (links to student opportunites vendini page) or contact The Mendel Center Box Office.

Volunteer Opportunities

The hospitality and service volunteers extend is critical to creating first and lasting impressions of The Mendel Center experience among patrons and visitors. Each year, more than 100 men and women donate thousands of hours to ensure a high level of customer service, facilitate the safety and comfort of visitors, and provide assistance with administrative tasks vital to the operation of the facility.

The Mendel Center volunteer corps is committed to upholding professionalism and consistency in meeting patrons’ needs, and to fostering an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere reflective of the rich diversity of Michigan’s Great Southwest.

Not only do volunteers assist with Mainstage season performances, they are on hand to make sure many other events go smoothly including the Lake Michigan College commencement ceremony, student performances and recitals, Economic Club of Southwestern Michigan Speakers Series events, Southshore Concert Band performances, Blossomtime festivities, and much, much more.

Typical event duties include:

  • Ticket takers

  • Playbill attendants

  • Ushers

  • Lobby hosts/greeters

  • Assistants for handicapped patrons

  • Will Call attendants

  • Coat room attendants

  • Concessions sales

  • Artist merchandise sales

Operational volunteer opportunities include:

  • Stuffing playbills

  • Distributing flyers and posters around the community
