An evening of jazz standards will fill the Lake Michigan College Mendel Center Jenkins Theatre at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, when the LMC music program presents the Red Hawk Jazz Collective under the direction of LMC adjunct faculty member Danny Lopez. This immersive concert experience seats the audience on the Jenkins Theatre stage with the performers. Tickets are not required for this free general admission event.
Among the planned selections are “Computer” composed and arranged by Bob Mintzer, “Fun Time” by Sammy Nestico, “On the Cool Side” by Peter Sciaino, and “Stolen Moments” by Oliver Nelson, arranged by Mike Kamuf.
The Red Hawk Jazz Collective will welcome featured guest artist Glenn McFarland on tenor saxophone. The Collective is composed of LMC students, LMC graduates, and community members. Band members are Rodger Payne, Tammy Crowner, Isabela Rodriguez Kupres, Marcia Blake, Nick Zablocki, Monica Harpole, Doug Gillespie, Yosgart Cruz, Dan Ward, Joey Hayman, Tom Crowner, Aiden Tellez, Jim Marquess, Nathan Dokter, Alexandra Lee, Deyton Lee, and Guy Tardi.

About the Lake Michigan College Music and Theater Programs
Lake Michigan College’s Music and Theater programs allow students to reach new levels of excellence through classroom instruction and public performance. The programs are based in the Lake Michigan College Mendel Center, the only performing arts center of its kind in Southwest Michigan.
