Lake Michigan College’s Visual & Performing Arts Department presents its Spring musical production featuring a cast of 22 students and community performers with stage direction by LMC Theatre Coordinator Paul Mow and musical direction by LMC Part-Time Faculty member Danny Lopez.
This dark, Tony Award-winner for Best Musical by Stephen Sondheim centers on Sweeney Todd, whose real name is Benjamin Barker, who uses his new alias to resume work in his barber shop above Mrs. Lovett’s struggling pie shop after being wrongfully sentenced to life in prison by corrupt Judge Turpin. After swearing vengeance against the judge, Todd and Lovett plot a plan that leads them down a dangerous path with deadly consequences.
